Introduction

• We are Bless Skateshop, established in 2012 in the vibrant neighborhood of Santana, São Paulo. Since then, we have become a focal point for the local skateboarding community, dedicated to promoting and enhancing skateboarding culture in the region. Located next to the famous sopa de letras square, our store has become a meeting point for skaters, friends and customers, united by the same passion: skateboarding. A brief story of what it was like to go to another country, Peru, to buy skateboard decks

For years, we've dreamed of having Bless skateboard decks, manufactured by an American company, reaching the quality of the Real, DGK and Baker brands. The scarcity of materials in Brazil has made this goal even more challenging.

At the end of 2021, an unexpected opportunity made this dream come true. After providing sales advice to my friend Julio De la Cruz, I received payment for the customized forms I had dreamed of. To get them, however, we had to travel to Peru.

A journey to Assis Brasil, with a tight deadline to pick up the shapes in Puerto Maldonado. The trip was full of anxiety and challenges, but determination drove me on.

The crossing to Peru was intense, and the lush jungle landscape made the adventure unique. Holding the shapes in Puerto Maldonado, I felt that all the effort had been worth it.

When I returned to Bless Skateshop, I brought back not only quality shapes, but a story of overcoming. This journey symbolizes perseverance for the skateboarding community in the northern zone of São Paulo, showing that we should never give up on our dreams. Skateboarding, more than a sport, is a way of life that teaches us to persist and overcome adversity.

Bless will launch a new website integrated with SkateHive, enabling payments in HBD, HIVE, USDC, and ETH for products and services. Moreover, it will promote the inclusion of web3 technology and provide access to information for the community, including children and black individuals.

Objective of the Bless x GNARS Plan:

We want to create a special Reels series every 15 days or monthly, featuring haircuts in a gnarly, Nounified environment. We'll share these onchain and CC0 with the Gnars/Nouns community. Clients will get haircuts with Noggles elements and then hit a skate session on a Noggles obstacle course.

• We were also one of those invited to take part in Will Dias' public goods proposal. We received a prize of 500 dollars and 20 skateboard decks, which was very fortunate for us. In addition, we were fortunate to see one of our friends from the Sopa de Letras Square community chosen as one of the best drawings in the competition for the best skateboard deck artwork,held by Will Dias and Gnars at Prop House for design.This experience not only brought resources and recognition to our community, but also highlighted local talent and creativity, strengthening our sense of belonging and collective pride.

• With that, Will suggested that we use the 500 dollars to create something meaningful, which resulted in the construction of a “slapnoggle” at a strategic point in the square. This new installation is a fun obstacle for skaters of all ages and has become a point of identification and pride for our community.
