Skating business to Ugandan families (Kampala.Skateboard.Initiative Sign Up)
Introduction:

This report provides key updates on activities carried out under the sponsorship, the impact made so far, and what’s coming next.
Key Activities and Highlights
Community Skate Events
With Gnars sponsorship we have been able to achieve things along the way that have strengthened our engangement online and off the media;
First the growth and learning the way of the crypto and wallets was sparked by Davin Oyesigye who on skate sessions held in the city centres on sundays joined to teach skaters the importance and security of wallets online. The importance of safe storage of wallets keys made sense to the onboarding of these skaters onto SkateHive a web3 site aimed to give back skaters with there content and energy getting those clips done on spots.
Filming, Editing and Screening of the extreme sports scene as built by the Uganda x Brazil Skating film for Gnars_DAO - K.S.I Agents. Climate Skaters,Kitintale Skate Park/Uganda Skateboarding Union all benefited from this sponsorship running in KSI
On 12th Dec 2024 we got book 3 tickets { Davin, Isaac Huston, Ephraim Sylar }

TO the Northern part of the country GULU where skateboarding is at its infant growth and an event EXPOSURE SKATEBOARDING CONTEST was set to happen- there we got to connect with skaters there and there Ephraim Sylar had the chance to welcome skaters to SkateHive and tried to make them understand the crypto way:
Shredders OF GULU SKATEBOARD COMMUNITY & KITGUM SKATE COMMUNITY
One of the highlights is when Davin Oyesigye takes the stage to talk about Gnars and Nouns on the showcase tour day #3; focusing on the importance of onboarding the next billion shredders onchain focusing on the next generation of shredders in Africa: nurturing talent and ensuring the growth of skateboarding culture;

"I’m excited for what’s next and grateful to be part of this experience", added Shredder Davin Oyesigye who recently received the official Gnars board gifts to resume skating after 6 months post Ankle Injury / Partial Training (PT) for the last 6 months.

Ephraim Sylar and Isaac Huston represented as judges for the contest sparking a greater meaning to talks about Gnars and SkateHive to skaters there.

The KSI End-of-Year Skate Show 2024
This event marked an exciting milestone as we organized our first-ever skate event on WELL PREPARED GROUNDS ._ THIS IS WHY ITS A PLEASURE HAVING THE GNARS SPONSORSHIP. The turnout was incredible, with skate communities from across the country joining us, including Climate Skaters Kiteezi, the Uganda Skateboard Union, and the Street Skating Scene.
The cultural way we organized the foods/ meals for the kids event was a huge boom for them to taste this. Gnars impact on the soils of KSI has been a constant positive thumbs UP. Transportation and smiles received can't be closed.
Several sessions have been held on tarmac ground off the dirt and to date we still hold them as the sponsorship lasts.
The kids in the course have been able to attain spin tricks that would have been hard to notice and learn on dirt ground.
These sessions attend over 60+ YOUNG shredders in total with the ground community kids.

Coach Lincoln With The Kids/: ⌐◨-◨ board creation
The kids, together with Coach Lincoln Mukasa (aka lincoln11 on SkateHive), recently held a workshop where they used tools, grinders, and smoothed wooden planks—along with worn-out boards—to create more Nogglez boards. Since the visit of the Gnars Team to Uganda, there has been a growing curiosity within the skate community about how these boards are made and designed.
The process of making more ⌐◨-◨ boards has not only fostered creativity and uniqueness but has also sparked discussions within the local skate culture about design and craftsmanship.
Beyond skateboarding, the presence of Gnars in Uganda has introduced new opportunities.
This also helped us add on the number of skates on the sessions we hold on the ground.

With trust and funds to KSI we were able create THE STICKBOARDS that got alot of engagement to KSI profile on INSTAGRAM paving eyes to more Gnars tagged content on IG.
This has all been achieved with the ⌐◨-◨ sponsorship

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the KSI DAO Powered Session brought together young shredders for an exciting day of skating with Annick Dhont from Belgium.
Annick Dhont cyclist under the European club All Ride Afrika, has been a strong supporter of young skaters, providing essential equipment and facilitating its shipment to Uganda. Through her travels in Uganda and East Africa, she has helped bring skateboarding gear to KSI (Kampala Skateboard Initiative), enabling local skaters to access better resources.
ON this session she carried decks from Belgium to Uganda for KSI as she always does on her trips to EAST AFRICA.
This session held on good grounds was just a step different from other sessions we hold: we got to share and build communication skills in the kids plus fun on the board making it a SOCIAL PLAN CONNECTION.
